Role: Operations Manager (D) – Mumbai

TSCO/IB Operations in Deutsche Bank covers a wide range of activities. Following the buying and selling of financial products and services by the bank, we ensure that each transaction is captured accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective risk management, cleared, documented, and confirmed, settled, and reconciled, all within a tightly controlled environment in adherence with global regulatory requirements. Job Description

We are looking for an Operations Manager (D) who will primarily manage the team in Mumbai with extensive experience in the local banking operations across asset classes such as Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Fixed income, settlements.

In addition to the TSCO team in Mumbai, there would be other teams in Mumbai the coverage would also include other branches outside India which will be assigned from time to time, which at present include Sri Lanka

The responsibility also includes supervisory oversight to teams in India which are incorporated separately due to regulatory reasons, Deutsche Investments, India, and Deutsche Equities India Operations

Your key responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for providing guidance & oversight to TSCO and other team through timely and accurate handling of trade confirmations, seamless settlement date processes (pre-matching and confirmation, trade processing, cash transfer, instruction routing, depot and inventory management, funding and settlement monitoring) and post-settlement date processes (fails management and reconciliations), completion of audit confirmation requests from auditors/clients
  • Provide guidance to ensure resolution of day-to-day issues, escalating exceptions, and ensuring all client requests are attended to and resolved in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the TSCO teams, promoting positive work culture and environment
  • Ensure risk indicators, controls, service level agreements and vendor management are adhered to and evidenced; this includes creating a strong culture of risk mitigation, participation in audits and compliance with key controls/protocols
  • Manage and foster relationships with various stakeholders including internal operations teams, Sales/Front Office and regional/global leads
  • Drive continuous improvement through close coordination with transformations team and ensure set efficiency/headcount targets are consistently achieved
  • Promote growth and talent development within the team through close collaboration with HR partners in terms of performance management, hiring and retention strategies

Strategizing and executing measures to optimize Cost, Staffing and production capacity

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting or Science
  • Proven experience in leading operations in Banking, Financial Institution or Financial Services industry (exposure to Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange and Derivatives will be an advantage)
  • Leadership skills coupled with effective stakeholder management skills
  • Self-driven and with an ability to work in a matrix organization
