About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer

In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • API Automation: Strong experience with API testing and automation using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or JMeter.
  • Cloud Technologies: Deep understanding of cloud platforms, like AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with Jenkins, TeamCity, or similar tools.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar scripting/programming languages for automation.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for cloud infrastructure automation.
  • Knowledge of at least one RDBMS database like Oracle, Postgresql, MS SQL Server,  Mongo DB, etc. 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor teams and present complex ideas clearly.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience with microservices architectures and related automation.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in automation and cloud environments.
  • Programming experience in Java/C#
  • SQL expertise
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally.
  • Strong expertise in test strategy, planning and execution across functional, automation, performance and ADA testing.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of test automation methodologies and frameworks across Engineering practices, IT infrastructures, platforms, tools, and technologies.
  • Experienced in developing the automation frameworks (Web).
  • Experienced on working micros services automation.
  • Experienced in quality engineering practices like Code review, Secure coding practices, Code Quality, Code Coverage, CI/CD.
  • Experience into test automation with tools such as Selenium/Playwright/UFT.
  • Deep understanding of Behavior Driven Development methodology.
  • Contribute to the overall improvement of software quality by participating in code reviews, design discussions, and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Extensive technical skills and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of enterprise quality engineering transformation journey.
  • Prior experience implementing test automation solutions in a dynamic, complex, and scaled environment.
  • Experience in Banking domain is must - (1 – 2 yrs) (preferably Lending)
  • Ability to quickly understand the business process and map the application functions

Job Expectations:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline
  • Candidate can clearly demonstrate their implementation experience.
  • Candidate can demonstrate that they have the capability to ramp up quickly without a lot of instruction, training, or hand-holding.
  • Candidate can demonstrate that they possess a balance of technical skills with hands-on implementation experience
  • Candidate can demonstrate that they have the soft skills to support a lack of detailed instruction or training.
  • Iterative and Agile development methodology
