Job Description:
Oracle DBA with experience of RAC, RMAN, Performance Tuning,TDE, DB Patching, DB upgrade, DR-DRILL etc. Should have DBA experience with Banking Environment.
Responsible for enterprise level configuration management and support using Oracle/SQL
Work responsibility
- Manage technical staff resources on the team to achieve an optimal operating environment and productive team.
- Prepare shift roaster for the team.
- Technically mentor and coach to junior team members.
- Plan, coordinate and delegate work tasks as appropriate to team members.
- Design, administer, support, and serve as a DBA for a variety of complex database Systems including Oracle and Microsoft SQL server
- Monitor system resource usage, device allocations and database growth to support capacity planning decisions
- Identify and implement performance-tuning enhancements as needed.
- Apply procedures relating to database and application security including all access procedures. Regularly review and change access authorizations and verify that unauthorized persons cannot access applications and data. Work with the Information Security Officer to assure the provision of appropriate levels of security to database applications, which contain confidential and/or sensitive information.
- Provide overall maintenance, monitoring, and auditing for system efficiencies, response time improvement, and quality control. Gather and analyze information to locate and correct possible inefficiencies; assist in establishing and maintaining standards for using databases and database management facilities; ensure adequate documentation of database and database usage is available.
- Implement procedures, maintain and report on database backup/restores. Ensure that databases can be restored quickly and completely from backup files.
- Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
- Interpret and monitor adherence to policies and procedures regarding associates as set forth by senior management.
- Train and/or coordinate training and professional development for database administrators, including completion of periodic mid-year and annual performance appraisals.
- Understand and comply with Customer policy, laws, regulations, and program like BSA/AML, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
- Knowledge on UNIX shell scripting ability to communicate technical contents and vendor management.
- Good process knowledge in call login, tracking, closure procedures. Knowledge of ITSM processes.
Adhere to SLA response and resolution times and ensure cases are regularly updated. Escalation of problems in a timely manner as per the defined escalation matrix.
