About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Communications Manager - External Communications/Public Relations. Incumbent will be responsible for shaping and executing the organization's PR strategy in India. This role involves managing media relations, handling the PR agency, and social media while ensuring brand reputation and messaging alignment. Additionally, will oversee a team/agency, providing mentorship and guidance to drive impactful social media campaigns.
In this role, you will:
Manage a team of individual contributors responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans that advance Wells Fargo’s reputation as an industry leader
Manage communications strategy and provide support for small or medium size business segment
Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic counselor to departmental leaders
Inform and influence decision makers at the management level
Collaborate with departmental leaders on business objectives and strategy
Partner with other Communications teams to ensure alignment of communications strategies and messaging
Manage allocation of people and financial resources for marketing and communications
Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
2+ years of leadership experience

Proven experience managing a team and agency.
Strong network of media contacts in the banking GCC industry.
Experience handling social media strategy and content execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Develop and execute strategic PR campaigns to enhance brand reputation and visibility in India.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers.
Draft, review, and distribute press releases, media pitches, and corporate statements.
Prepare executives for media interactions.
Monitor media coverage, manage crisis communications, and develop proactive reputation management strategies.
Align messaging with global PR strategies while ensuring cultural relevance in India.
Oversee social media strategy, content planning, and execution across key platforms.
Collaborate with brand and internal teams to drive engagement, brand awareness, and thought leadership.
Analyze social media performance metrics and optimize content strategies accordingly.
Ensure messaging consistency across PR and social media channels.
Manage and mentor a social media professional, fostering their growth and skills development.
Manage external speaking engagements with the India leadership team.
Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., marketing, HR, leadership) to align communications strategies.
Collaborate with regional and global teams to ensure brand alignment.
Develop and implement crisis communication plans.
Serve as a key advisor during reputation-sensitive situations.
Provide timely responses and media engagement strategies during crisis scenarios.
Measure PR and social media performance using key metrics and reporting tools.
Provide insights and recommendations to improve communication effectiveness.
