About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Database Engineer.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex or critical database management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and business groups, including database architecture, design, integration and data modeling
  • Provide the highest technical expertise for the planning, research, design implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
  • Review and analyze complex database technologies that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Design and certify next generation database technologies
  • Assist in database installations, including troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Recommend improvements to web application processing issues and design
  • Consult with multiple client groups to provide strategic solutions, influencing long range internal and enterprise level database architecture and management strategies
  • Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Having more than 8 years of Experience as Oracle DBA.
  • Resource should be very wells versed in Oracle DB, Exadata, ZDLRA, Veridata , Goldengate 23i.
  • Experience in the entire Lifecycle management of the Oracle Products and SDLC process related to Oracle.

Job Expectations:

1. DB Compliance Management

The organization must maintain compliance with respect to enterprise standards & policies. The Lead Database Engineer will be critical in ensuring –

Product ownership of Oracle related products like Database, Grid Infrastructure, Goldengate, Exadata

Sunrise/Sunset of products

Manage version/release cycles for the products

Manage security baselines & configuration drifts for various oracle products

Alignment with engineering, operations and Application teams for compliance and trackingOversight of Vulnerability management

2. Driving Platform Reliability & MaintenanceTo meet the 100% compliance target for provisioning, maintenance, and performance testing:The Lead Database Engineer will establish and enforce standardized maintenance frameworks (e.g; patching, updates, performance testing, Provisioning)They will coordinate remediation efforts to ensure all deferred maintenance tasks are properly documented and resolved in a timely mannerThe role will streamline cross-team collaboration between infrastructure, Database, Compliance and Application teams.3. Implementing Resilient & Future-Proof InfrastructureShould be capable to migrate and transition to Higher versions, EXADATA racks, with a two-region architecture for resiliency. The Lead Database Engineer will:Infrastructure modernization effort, ensuring a smooth transition existing or new data centersEnsure compliance with resiliency policies by implementing a two-region architectureOptimize cost, performance, and risk by developing scalable and redundant infrastructure solutions

Develop Near Zero downtime procedures to patching & maintenance activities

4. AutomationEnsuring Standardization and building a robust environment that can self-serve solutions to Database users and DBAs.

Identify & Automate DB routine activities (Patching, Upgrades, DB refresh, Relocations, Switchover & Failovers etc.)
