Job Title: Staff Software Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Business & Team: Retail Technology

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of strategic programs of work.
  • Utilises strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes.
  • Provide consultancy across projects and delivery teams.
  • Leader and champion of strategic practice development within team or platform.
  • Contributes to delivery planning with expert advice, often T-shaping when required.
  • Evangelist for best practices and industry standards including test automation.
  • Identifies, gains support for, and ensures execution of strategic direction in areas of expertise.
  • Responsible for nominated technical assets related to areas of expertise including roadmaps and technical direction.
  • Mentors and up-skills other engineering teams.
  • Active contribution to internal online discussion around software engineering, delivery and technology

Essential Skills

  • Experience: 12 to 16 years of industry experience as a full-stack engineer with a strong technical discipline
  • Development Methodologies: MVC with .NET Core and .NET Framework, REST APIs, Microservices, streaming platforms like Kafka.
  • Frontend Technologies: (HTML5, CSS and Javascript. Angular or React JS
  • Programming Languages: C#, Python with good knowledge of OOPS concepts and design patterns. Any Java knowledge is good to have.
  • CI/CD: Any Git tool for source control with GitHub actions. Build tools like TeamCity or Jenkins and experience with deployment tooling like Octopus or similar. Proficient knowledge of Dockers and Kubernetes.
  • Databases: Either of the relational databases like MSSQL / Oracle. Also any No-SQL database like MongoDB etc. 
  • Monitoring: Familiarization with Observe/Obstack or a similar monitoring tool and performance tooling like AppDynamics.Cloud: A fairly good knowledge of either of Cloud providers, preferably AWS or Azure.
  • Native Stack: Any exposure to mobile native development (Android or iOS) is good to have
  • GenAI Stack: A fair understanding on Github Co-pilot and similar code generation tools & GenAI stack
  • Soft skills: Excellent communication skills. Working experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Automation: A fairly good knowledge on Selenium, Blazemeter and other automation tools

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology or any similar stream
