Job Summary

The Associate Director, Strategic Change, S&T COO will apply their knowledge and expertise to help unlock the unique potential of our Strategy & Talent organisation. They will apply their collaborative, productive and solution-focused ethos to support strategic priorities and shift the mindset, skillset, and toolset of the Strategy & Talent organisation.

The role requires a collaborative, motivated and engaged individual who is comfortable navigating complex environments. Our ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting or leading business change, exposure or experience working in a highly regulated and agile environment with proven consultancy, business acumen and relationship building skills.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Identify, plan and prioritise strategic change initiatives to support improvements to the Strategy & Talent operating model, cost base and ways of working 
  • Support key Strategy & Talent change leaders to provide expert change management advice and execution support 
  • Support strategic change initiatives on a short and medium-term assignment basis including responsibility for change management scope and timelines
  • Track, report and escalate timely and meaningful progress and status updates to senior leaders

Business

  • Implement change initiatives across the Strategy & Talent organisation that are aligned to our strategy, business and functional priorities and overall budgets
  • Plan, create and execute change management plans designed to manage resistance and improve the likelihood of benefits realisation
  • Produce high-quality key deliverables that drive the change agenda forward including communications, training, adoption, measurement and handover artefacts 

Processes

  • Operationalise and embed the Bank’s ways of working – agile, accelerated, insights led and data driven execution 
  • Ensure alignment to Bank global process standards 
  • Support the development of client and colleague centric process solutions – identify opportunities to innovate, improve and challenge status quo mindsets 

People & Talent

  • Embody a culture of client centricity, agility and accountability through standardised metrics and clear impact measurements 
  • Support the people agenda across initiatives and system changes to ensure that our colleagues are future ready 
  • Support engagement activities through the project lifecycle to ensure high levels of emotional connectivity and engagement   

Risk Management

  • Identify and escalate potential risks and issues impacting change adoption, utilisation and proficiency outcomes 

Governance

  • Ensure alignment to Bank global process standards 
  • Ensure adherence to technology and project execution framework and standards 

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • EDUCATION     Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Finance or related discipline
  • CERTIFICATIONS     Change Mgmt / Project Mgmt certification is desirable
