1About the position:The Early Phase Engineer is part of the Project Designs Engineering Team within the Chevron ENGINE Center performing design activities to deliver larger complex projects within Chevron oil and gas facilities. This role leads cross-disciplinary design activities and is responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of the project design. The Early Phase Engineer works closely with other engineering functions to ensure projects are completed safely, timely, are cost effective, and are of the desired quality.Key responsibilities:
Leads multidiscipline teams to execute Pre-FEED scopes and delivery of Digital Design Packages in a teaming environment.
Ensures that engineering quality is maintained while driving execution to deliver on the cost and schedule metrics agreed to with the Business.
Understands manufacturing design work processes and procedures in an execution environment.
Broad-based facilities/manufacturing knowledge that enables a multidisciplinary and functional systems design approach to scopes.
Drives systems engineering focus that utilizes digital design tools and software to leverage standard designs and initiatives, including Minimum Functional Objectives.
Executes through leveraging available tools and processes, including Agile & Operation Science (PPM).
It is anticipated that domestic or international travel will be required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
Background in one of the following disciplines Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation/Controls, or Process Controls, Process.
Experienced in engineering facilities design as it relates to one or more of the following: Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Startup and Operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
10-15 years of experience in an engineering execution or consultant role within offshore, complex or LNG facilities.
Prior experience leading cross functional teams
Operations and facility commissioning/startup experience is desired.
Prior project management experience
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
