The Red Hat Connectivity Link team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work on Red Hat Connectivity Link components, Kuadrant upstream project and the related technologies, including Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes netwroking. Red Hat Connectivity Link is a Kubernetes-native solution that helps you manage your applications to connect and communicate across different cloud environments. It is designed to simplify and enhance application connectivity, application management, and security across multicloud and multicluster environments. You will work closely with a team of developers and quality engineers distributed across multiple countries (Spain, Ireland, Czech Republic and others).

What you will do

• Develop secure, reliable and scalable software, primarily in Go programming language running on OpenShift and cloud-native technologies.
• Participate in peer code review with other engineers, always trying to improve the quality of our code base
• Work in an agile team using agile development practices based on test-driven development and DevOps
• Work with support team to reproduce and fix customer issues
• Collaborate with product management, other engineering and cross-functional teams to analyze and clarify business requirements
• Respond promptly to security treats
• Mentor and guide other team members 
• Propose new techniques and methods based on business context, participate in architectural designs and technology choices.
• Work closely with the community project Kuadrant and Gateway API
• Consistently participate and take leadership opportunities

What you will bring 

• Great experience developing components and services in Go programming language
• Solid experience in Kubernetes, OpenShift or other cloud-native technologies
• Ability to quickly learn and guide others on using new tools and technologies
• Experience with source code management tools such as Git
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of agile programming practices
• Understanding of test-driven development, continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD).
• Strong system understanding and troubleshooting capabilities

The following are considered a plus

• While a Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related discipline is valued, we prioritize practical experience and technical prowess
• Kubernetes Operator development experience and knowledge of the the Operator ecosystem 
• Experience with networking or application networking specifically is a plus
• Experience with running or contributing to Open Source communities
• Experience with development for public cloud services (AWS, GCE, Azure)
