About the Job :
We are looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join the Red Hat Cloud Experience team in Waterford, Ireland to work on improving the RHEL experience in the public clouds. This role requires some knowledge — but more importantly, a lot of curiosity — about how Linux distributions are put together and delivered into the public cloud. On the Cloud Experience team, you will work in a friendly and collaborative atmosphere, with an emphasis on deeply understanding and analyzing challenging problems. Everyone on the team works remotely and across multiple time zones.
What will you do?
Develop new automated tests; design and develop new test frameworks and automation; analyze current solutions and suggest improvements.
Design and Influence testing methodologies for RHEL on Cloud environments.
Identify gaps in CI test coverage, implement solutions and maintain the CI pipeline
Contribute to the delivery of RHEL Cloud Image Validation tools.
Lead the technical direction and content for RHEL Quality Engineering on Cloud
What will you bring?
3+ years of experience in quality engineering (Software engineering or similar is fine)
Experience in DevOps and building and maintaining CI/CD in GitLab or Jenkins.
Experience running and testing with containerized applications.
Experience testing Python based applications
Knowledge and interest in cloud computing, configuration management, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)
Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on delivering RHEL releases.
Experience on Linux distribution testing on AWS, Azure and GCP.
Linux System engineering experience; experience with RHEL Cloud Images will be ideal.
Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu is a plus
Experience using Jira for task management and bug tracking and agile development processes is a plus
Experience with RHEL rpm-based packaging is a plus
