PURPOSE

  • Lead the development and execution of the strategy to drive customer acquisition, retention and expansion of the health and accident insurance line.
  • Develop and own the accident and health growth strategy and delivery to new market opportunities including product diversification and geographic expansion are identified and evaluated.
  • Lead, the design and effective partnerships and alliances to broaden customer base and reach and work closely with GO GA and proposition, customer solutions, and market level support the FWD vision, to develop market leading accident and health business
  • Lead, manage, coach and develop a team of high performing individuals who are viewed as subject matter experts in markets who can competently lead, execute and deliver the strategic initiatives for accident and health initiatives to meet and exceed strategic KPI's whilst encouraging and driving a culture of continuous learning and development through new ways of working and ideation of solutions leveraging new and emerging technologies.
  • Providing technical advice on channel growth strategies and research and relevant statistics on setting assumptions for product pricing or pricing basis/matrix reviews
  • Lead the provision of the technical knowledge in the development of effective sales tools, training, and resources to improve performance.
  • Key medical business partner: review of business planning for growth strategies in accident and health to drive growth in earned premium and new business
  • Lead the accident and health review of partnership development relating to growth at GO and support review at market

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES

  • Lead on ensuring the development of a framework to assist businesses in integrating growth practice policies for accident and health.
  • Key operational support required from the businesses – serves as specialist in accident and health sales support
  • Leads the development of performance metrics and monitors and reports on key KPIs to track the growth initiatives by working closely with GO product, distribution GA and wider A&H team
  • Responsible to be a strong advocate for FWD vision and strategy and ensure overall alignment with group customer solutions, market and reinsurance partners to support FWD Accident and health strategies, philosophies and practices to the benefit of FWD, whilst ensuring compliance to regulations and align with risk tolerance preference within the risk appetite of the Group.
  • Group-led and proactively ensure these are accounted for in market budgets and business plans for ease of buy-in and execution.
  • Responsible to bring new growth opportunities in Accident and health to Group and markets through strategic thinking processes to evaluate current state, strengths, weaknesses, and identify opportunities for development and testing of hypotheses to drive next generation ideas and solutions.
  • Responsible to know the markets strengths and weakness in managing a health portfolio, performance and KPI's to facilitate senior leadership discussions in various forums by ensuring monthly monitoring of strategic KPI’s, Quarterly meetings with persons in charge regarding medical reviews and new medical trends and insights
  • Collaborate with high-performing functional teams from multiple domain expertise area across Health, Product, Digital, Customer Experience and Operations to integrate diverse needs and perspectives to develop fresh ideas and solutions to ensure our customers are in the center of the journey design, and their best interests are fully considered and incorporated.
  • Lead, manage and coach a team of subject matter experts and ensure each person has a development plan in place to grow and reach their full potential and be adaptable to new technologies and agile ways of working. Develop meaningful objectives linked to the strategic direction and development needs.
  • Foster a culture of learning, sharing, commitment, collaboration and continuous improvement and delivery of customer value aligned with FWDs overall brand Vision and Strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in growth, accident and health, business development or related accident and health insurance.
  • Experience professional with knowledge of the Asia health insurance market to relevant transferable skills and knowledge from other financial services industries such as life or general insurance.
  • Significant knowledge and cultural understanding of the various regions and its market.
  • A track record of achieving and exceeding targeted business result/KPIs.
  • Proven track record of driving significant growth in competitive market.
  • Strong analytics skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accident and health insurance or insurance in a leadership role
  • Comprehensive experience working in a dynamic and evolving business environment and demonstrated ability to transform business and people to deliver results for a large set up across diverse cultures.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing high performing teams with a diverse background and culture.
  • Comprehensive experience in developing and implementing strategic frameworks for standardised application across markets with successful implementation and tangible business and customer outcomes.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of accident and health insurance practices, trends and research and the ability to apply this knowledge to job and communicate this knowledge to underwriters and management.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional ability to communicate across various levels and regions of an organisation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accident and health products with an understanding of the operational processes underwriting, pricing and reserving policies and guidelines
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, articulation, relationship building, influencing skills are required with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes
  • Highly advances investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills utilising experience, guidelines and internal resources.
  • Exceptional skills in managing multiple tasks, projects simultaneously, including the ability to handle changing priorities.
  • Ability to foster a teamwork and customer service focused environment
