Position Responsibilities:
Support and help lead Regional Operations Line 1B initiatives such as but not limited to Controls Testing, Framework implementation, and Control gap/ Reportable Events and Issue trend analysis.
Provide comprehensive support and assistance to Asia markets to conduct risk and control related initiatives, e.g. risk & control self-assessment (“RCSA”), audit management, issue and incidents management, etc.
Facilitate and advise Operations Line 1B across Asia in conducting Control Testing to assess and ensure control effectiveness
Offer expert risk and control management advice, guidance, oversight and challenge to Asia markets on key initiatives and projects
Facilitate and guide Asia markets in reporting key operational risk exposures, incidents and issues to management timely, as well as identifying impact, root cause and appropriate mitigating actions properly
Provide support to operational risk governance meeting, and prepare meeting materials and management reports for robust governance and oversight
Promote a strong risk awareness and culture through regular communication with Asia markets and delivery of trainings
Conduct timely and accurate communications and maintain strong relationships with functions and stakeholders across the organization, eg Operations, 2LOD, and 3LOD, on various risk and control related initiative
Required Qualifications:
University graduate, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Operational Risk, or a related discipline
At least 10 years’ internal/external auditing, control, risk management, compliance, quality assurance, or consulting experience, preferably gained from insurance or financial institutions
Recognized professional accounting/auditing/risk management (CPA, FRM, CIA, CA, etc.) designation
Good knowledge of audit sampling methodologies including control frameworks, risk management techniques, and regulatory requirements
Results oriented; able to strike work balance on multiple priorities and projects
Strong business judgment in assessing significance of issues and developing value added recommendations
Experience in the Insurance Operations Risk is preferred
Strong stakeholder and people management skills; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes through strong verbal and written communication
Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to influence senior leaders and inspire and train more junior team members
Deep understanding of Operational risks and how they can impact the business
Demonstrated strong planning, organizing, leadership and change management capabilities
Self-driven, able to meet objectives with a minimal amount of managerial oversight
Can distill complex issues into simple reports, solutions, and designs
Proficient in English with exceptional communication skills, which include verbal, written and listening
