Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Support: Support initiatives to retain and grow shareholder value in the China Joint Venture (JV), including strategic planning, capital optimization, and business model enhancement
Product Strategy Development: Provide actuarial and business insights to support the steering on the China JV’s insurance product strategy, ensuring competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and alignment with Group strategy and risk appetite.
Financial Oversight: Support actuarial analyses and develop management information (MI) reports to monitor the China JV’s financial health, ensuring alignment with Group objectives.
Governance & Board Engagement: Collaborate with Group-wide functions in review of the Board meeting materials to strengthen Group oversight of the China JV’s governance, risk management, and long-term strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Group teams including Finance, Actuarial and Risk to ensure cohesive input on the China JV’s financial sustainability, capital planning, and risk mitigation strategies.

Key Requirements:

Qualified Actuary e.g. SOA, IFoA with 10+ years of relevant experience
Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate actuarial analysis into strategic recommendations. Experience in supporting JV management is preferred.
China Market Expertise: Deep understanding of China’s insurance landscape, including regulatory frameworks, product development, and competitive dynamics.
