About the role

What you need to know:

Underwriting

  • Able to understand and summarize the risk of the commercial client and maintaining underwriting disciplines

  • Identifying “first sign trends” in business submissions.  Frequent communication with manager is required to identify the market trend and risk profile of the industry.

  • Sensitive to changes of the legal, economic and industry-specific environment and able to reflect that in the risk analysis.

  • Responsible for Professional Indemnity Insurance and financial institution segment with further development opportunity across all the financial lines products and segments.  

  • Able to assist Manager to manage the profitability of the portfolio

Strategic Planning

  • Contributing specific input relating to industry trends and specific needs to our commercial client

  • Implementing the Action Plans emanating from the Strategic Plans as directed by the Managers.

Marketing / Sales

  • Maintaining contact with peers within the industry.  Assistance should be provided to the Manager with regards to line underwriting requirements for new products and enhancements.

What we’re looking for:

  • University Degree graduates

  • At least 2 -3 years of finance or risk assessment related experience (experience in (financial institution) audit, business consulting, legal, securities placement or corporate finance services will be preferable)

  • General knowledge of General Insurance product and the Insurance market is preferred but not compulsory

  • Good spoken and written English and Chinese

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
