PURPOSE

• Being a functional business analyst to manage the implementation and change requests for Finance Data Repository (FDR) on AWS Cloud as well as the IFRS 17 Extract Transform & Load Tool (ETL/ DPL):
  • Drive and maintain the functional design to ensure consistency across entities as well as alignment with the target system architecture and overall design principles
  • Project-manage technical delivery according to agreed implementation timeline with expected quality

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES

• Key person and subject matter expert to drive and maintain the solution design of FDR functionalities (e.g. Data Validation, ACF Recon, Results Recon, etc.) and I17 ETL/ DPL by:
  • Understanding and documenting the business requirements and change requests
  • Continuously updating the BRD and/or solution design specifications to reflect the latest requirements/ design and facilitate approval by the Finance Change Board
  • Providing functional design of FDR and I17 ETL/ DPL that can fulfill both group and local requirements or changes effectively and efficiently
  • Assessing upstream and downstream impacts, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders
  • Acting as group office gatekeeper to ensure the solution design is consistent across entities where applicable
  • Developing test cases and conducting unit tests and system integration tests as part of the development processes
  • Supporting business users to perform user acceptance tests
  • Providing post-production support as subject matter expect on FDR and I17 ETL/ DPL
  • Maintaining the I17 ETL/ DPL look-up table template used for source data mapping as well as the related data validation rules and reconciliation logics built in FDR
  • Providing input to target operating processes, procedures and controls 
• Project-manage technical delivery of the group finance applications by:
  • Developing and maintaining the project plan as agreed with relevant stakeholders and providing regular status updates
  • Proactively monitoring progress to avoid any slippage
  • Acting as liaison with the technical teams, e.g GFAS, Group/ Local IT teams, or external vendors with regards to technical solution design and delivery
  • Providing business context, requirements and guidance to the technical teams, and reviewing their deliverables to ensure on-time delivery with quality
  • Identifying any risks / issues of the delivery and propose mitigation actions for timely escalation

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5-6 years’ finance project and related experience, including working on large-scale group-wide transformation projects
• Experience with insurance business
• Experience working in and across international / Asia region markets
• Charted Accountant is preferred
• Finance or related Bachelors’ degree, or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Knowledge as business analyst and data engineer
• Experience in working with cloud environments, BI and reporting tools
• Knowledge of international accounting standards, including IFRS17 and IFRS9
