Job Description:
Facility Security Coordinator
The Facility Security Coordinator ensures regulatory compliance is maintained with all applicable laws and regulations in accordance with the Aviation Security legislation and UPS Local Operating Plan (LOP) standards. This position is also responsible for ensuring the daily operational quality of the facility’s screening process, overseeing chain of custody controls, maintaining documentation to prove compliance, and conducting self-assessments at the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Aviation Security controls related to the receipt of secure cargo through outbound loading and transportation to an air gateway or alternate Regulated Agent
- Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained with all applicable laws and regulations is in accordance with government legislation amongst operation units and all facilities
- Coordinate the implementation of all standards and regulations in the MOP and LOP relating to aviation security
- Communicate aviation security regulations and standards to operation units, country staff and area security managers
- Facilitate internal and external audits on aviation security and compliance inspections and monitor corrective action plans
- Oversee Designated Screening Area (DSA) including access control and 3rd party screeners
- Implement quality assurance controls (Signed records, screening equipment, recruitment, training & compliance records, security seal and transportation documentation)
- Oversee the chain of custody of all cargo moving through the Cargo Screening Facility (CSF) whenever screening is taking place
- Demonstrate regulatory compliance through self-audit and records to ensure adherence to established aviation security protocols are always up to a high standard
Who we are looking for
- Diploma/ High Diploma /Degree holder with a passion and interest in aviation from any discipline welcome, Logistics/Supply Chain/Aviation Studies/Computer Studies relevant major is an added advantage
- Minimum 1 year working experience relevant to transportation/aviation industry is an asset, fresh graduates/applicants from other discipline anticipating to develop in the field of aviation welcome
- Willing to work on public holidays and perform shift duties
- Practical experience with analytical work using computer applications
- Good command of spoken and written English
- A good team player who is proactive, trustworthy, able to demonstrate assertiveness in a professional manner when communicating with people of different levels
- Confident with the ability to work independently and organize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment tolerating high pressure
