PURPOSE

Have overall responsibility for supporting FWD Database Infrastructure from design through implementation, ongoing management and support
Provides investigation, diagnostic testing and resolution of Database System.
Assist on New Business Unit Build-up.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Act as the Database team member for management and support of FWD IT Database system, services availability, capacity and 7x24 hours support.
Carry out database system maintenance including troubleshooting, performance monitoring and tuning.
Perform database server installation/patching/upgrade.
Prepare database system performance report according to the guideline.
Assist on implementation of databases to support business applications.
Ensure the Database System infrastructure are fulfil compliance/security requirement
Evaluates new products or services and suggests changes to existing products or services to enhance the operation of services
Assists in conducting DR Drill and BCP process

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Degree holder in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent with more than 3 years of database administration experience gained in sizable organization
Holder of professional qualification(s) preferred e.g. OCP and MCSE(Database Platform)

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

At least 3-5 years hands-on experience in database administration with Oracle 11g/12c, MS SQL 2012/2016.
Hands-on experience in database installation, backup & recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, database monitoring, data replication and database encryption
Proficient in database design and problem solving of database problem
Able to work independent, self-motivated and willing to take challenges
Able to perform judgment and problem solving to avoid data incidents to in/external customers
Able to communicate with colleagues and vendors at different levels
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
Good command of written English and Chinese; fluent in spoken English
Willingness to learn new IT Technology
