Here at DXC we have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced, on-site

Desktop Support Engineer to provide support to a long standing client at Frimley.

This is a full-time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday –

Friday between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00.

Working as part of the DXC team you will gain access to a large library of training Courses and accreditations to help further your skills and development.

Due to the nature of our client's work the successful candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason we are only able to progress applications from British nationals.

This role is primarily site based at Frimley, but will involve support for supported sites such as Guildford. Travel to Guildford will be paid travel and driven based on service/absences.

Main responsibilities:As a Desktop Support Engineer you will be:Carrying out Security Audits of all devices holding Data on the network by Scanning and reportingIMAC’s – Installations, Moves, Additions and ChangesBreak-Fix of all in-scope managed devicesHands and Eyes Support to visually verify the state of managed devices such as servers and network devicesDesktop Support including special project activities as they ariseAsset Management & Stock ManagementManaging the lifecycle of loan user equipmentWorking directly alongside the client managing own workload whilst liaising with other teams or vendors to resolutionAct as a central point of contact for the customerSoftware and system fault diagnosis, analysis and fixTake responsibility for stock used and follow the correct procedures regarding stock managementProactively keeping the customer updated with problem status at all timesIdentifying and reporting risk as appropriate in accordance with the guidelines

Essential Skills

Must have, or be able to obtain UK GOV Security Clearance at SC levelFull, clean UK Driving LicenseProven trouble shooting skillsPrevious experience in a similar role with ITIL environmentPC/Desktop Support knowledge including Microsoft Windows XP/7/10 onwardsExcellent communicator both face-to-face & over the phoneAdministering Windows Share\File permissions.Mobile connectivity (E.g. Android/IPhone)Knowledge of SCCMGood knowledge of HP Workstation, Desktops & LaptopsMust be able to deal productively with a high workload with minimal supervision
