As the Manufacturing Engineering, you are responsible for Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. You will discuss consequences of changes in products and processes for the own team in the manufacturing organization.

The successful candidate should expect to work in a fast-paced, customer focused production environment, providing quick and effective solutions to daily production issues.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, your main responsibilities will involve: 

  • Acting as a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, supporting major programs from development to production including process planning, change management and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Developing a thorough understanding of sensor performance to suit a wide range of requirements, and be able to interpret data-sets to improve product performance

  • Liaising with internal departments (Technology, Purchasing, Quality, Integrated Project Teams) and, on occasion, dealing directly with the customer and supplier

  • Providing input into product changes,  modifications and improvements, to ensure they are designed for efficient manufacture and assembly

  • Providing robust solutions to production issues ensuring cost, quality and time targets are met

  • Acting as the Manufacturing Engineering authority on process planning, equipment, tooling and productivity

  • Creating documentation and instructions for production areas

  • Lead and own Manufacturing Engineering work streams and projects

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve manufacturing & business milestones

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have HNC/HND or equivalent experience in electrical/electronic or manufacturing engineering discipline.

  • Have current or recent Manufacturing Engineer position in similar engineering industry manufacturing complex electronic assemblies

  • Have experience in engineering processes & tooling capability

  • Have Strong experience in assembly techniques and good attention to detail of components and assemblies

  • Have background in reviewing and approving engineering documents, drawings of components and assemblies

  • Have an understanding of MRP system, engineering and manufacturing routing (SAP) would be an advantage

  • Have depth of experience in driving process improvement

  • Having good interpersonal skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Have working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology & tools

  • Have experience with implementing automation into key processes

  • Have ability to efficiently convert technical information & engineering drawing data into work instructions & technical narratives (Essential)
