Job Description:

This role is primarily site based at Portsmouth, but will involve support for supported sites such within the vicinity. Travel for these sites will be paid travel and driven based on service.

As an On-site Engineer, you will be supporting the onsite client with desk side support including (not limiting to):Carrying out Security Audits of all devices holding Data on the network by Scanning and reportingIMAC’s – Installations, Moves, Additions and ChangesBreak-Fix of all in-scope managed devicesHands and Eyes Support to visually verify the state of managed devices such as servers and network devicesDesktop Support including special project activities as they ariseSupporting the client through project managed tasks – mix of onsite and remote work.

Asset Management & Stock ManagementManaging the lifecycle of loan user equipmentWorking directly alongside the client managing own workload whilst liaising with other teams or vendors to resolutionAct as a central point of contact for the customerSoftware and system fault diagnosis, analysis and fixTake responsibility for stock used and follow the correct procedures regarding stock managementProactively keeping the customer updated with problem status at all timesIdentifying and reporting risk as appropriate in accordance with the guidelines

This is a full-time permanent position working 37.5-hours per week, Monday -Friday between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00; hours will be agreed at a later time with site lead.

Due to the nature of our client's work the successful candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason we are only able to progress with applications from British nationals.

Essential Skills

  • Must have, or be able to obtain UK GOV Security Clearance at SC levelFull, clean UK Driving LicenseProven trouble shooting skillsPrevious experience in a similar role with ITIL environmentPC/Desktop Support knowledge including Microsoft Windows XP/7/10/11 onwards
  • Knowledge and awareness of M365Excellent communicator both face-to-face & over the phoneAdministering Windows Share\File permissions.Mobile connectivity (E.g. Android/IPhone)Knowledge of SCCMConfident break fix knowledge of HP Workstation, Desktops & LaptopsMust be able to deal productively with a high workload with minimal supervision
  • Great attention to detail 

Desirable skills

  • Microsoft Certification (MCSE/MCSA/MCP’s)
  • Accredited in relevant manufacturers hardware qualification (HP)
  • Basic Network Knowledge (Patching, tracing switch information etc.)
  • Service Now Ticketing System Experience
