About this role:

​Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join their team in London and act as primary support for debt capital markets bankers in the origination of investment grade public bonds across USD, EUR and GBP markets; coordination of a team of juniors with progression towards a client coverage function.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare marketing documents, including pitch materials, offering materials, rating agency materials, roadshow marketing materials and management presentations.
  • Conduct financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction.
  • Participate in due diligence calls and other client interactions during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers.
  • Participate in the execution and pricing of transactions in the global debt capital markets.
  • Support a team of DCM coverage and syndicate bankers.
  • Have managerial oversight of a team of analysts with responsibility for the functions above across DCM asset classes.
  • Have Progression visibility towards future client coverage roles

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and written communication skills
  • Proven academic performance. Educated to BSc level strongly preferred
  • Must demonstrate high level of personal motivation
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable functioning both independently and as part of a team, meeting stringent deadlines and work quality standards.
  • Able to learn quickly and apply critical thinking skills to achieve objectives for both internal and external clients.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, including ability to coordinate multiple work streams and deliver against tight timelines, with managerial and coordination skills
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing financial statements.
  • Experience in using Excel to analyze and clearly present data.
  • Proficient use of Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient user of Bloomberg.
  • Ability to interact with clients in a confident and professional manner.
  • Fluency in English and an additional language is a plus.
  • Previous debt capital markets experience required
  • Experience in Investment banking, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Job Expectations:

This position is deemed to be a Certified Person function under the FCA and PRA Certification Regime. You must at all times remain fit and proper to perform your role, and this will be assessed on at least an annual basis
