Senior Sales Executive

The Thomson Reuters Institute is a premier thought leadership and research organization within Thomson Reuters. The Institute serves as a hub for research, insights, and analysis on various industries and topics, including legal, tax, accounting, and risk management.

The Senior Sales Executive role will be to sell the Institute's portfolio of products and services within the legal market; primarily focused on our UK, European, and Latin American markets. The role will involve developing relationships at key law firms with the aim of winning new business for TR.

Our team helps clients leverage research to make better business decisions. Our core offerings involve: financial benchmarking tools, market research and competitive assessments, and strategic planning advisory services. Your ability to understand and address client needs will help our team foster long-term partnerships and drive success.

About The Role

  • Lead generation and new sales
    • Identify opportunities where we can offer solutions which meet clients' needs.
    • Build solid relationships with both customers and colleagues.
    • Influence and negotiate at senior levels of law firms, as well as building partnerships internally and externally.  
    • Managing your own sales pipeline and reporting upwards on progress.
  • Relationship management and renewals
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned territory clients—ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and efficiency
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships by understanding their objectives and providing tailored solutions
    • Communicate regularly with clients to update them on research progress, findings, and any relevant industry trends.

We envisage that you will undertake a combination of virtual and face-to-face client visits each week.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • At least 5 years of sales/business development experience required
  • Experience working in a complex sales environment selling advisory and research-based solutions to C-suite and Executive teams
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics around sales activity and results
  • Persuasive writing skills for proposals and meeting generation with high-level Executives
