About the Role

Join our Cloud Networking team, where you’ll play a crucial role in building and maintaining the services that ensure Wise’s cloud networking infrastructure meets the demands of a growing FinTech business. You’ll develop tooling and provide hands-on technical expertise to design, deploy, and optimise our services on AWS and other major cloud providers, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness.

As we grow, managing our cloud platform becomes increasingly complex. We need to sustain this growth by iterating on our services with a focus on availability, security, and ease of use. We’re looking for an engineer who can analyze complex requirements and deliver simple solutions to help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Build, maintain, and support Wise’s networking within its cloud platform through software and automation.
• Design and implement scalable and secure cloud networking solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective outcomes.

What You Need

• In-depth knowledge of building complex applications and automation tooling in Python (experience with Golang is a bonus).
• Experience designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based solution architectures, preferably on AWS and/or GCP.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automating infrastructure provisioning, developer operations, or continuous integration/deployment.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate concepts to users and stakeholders and facilitate cross-team collaboration.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of the Kubernetes operator pattern.
• Experience with networking within the cloud.
• Experience with one or more observability platforms.
• Knowledge of the financial services industry and/or other regulated industries.

What do we offer:  Starting salary: £80,000- £102,000 + RSU Wise Benefits
