The role:
As a Multiskilled Technician you will work within the Maintenance Team and reporting to the Maintenance Lead, the purpose of this role is to perform mechanical and electrical engineering tasks necessary to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all primary and auxiliary production equipment and utility support systems, sustaining operations and ensuring the long-term reliability of 3CR operational assets. Much of your time will be spent on mechanical and electrical work including reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
This is a hands-on role, which will also support the repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment used throughout the plant to ensure that operational needs are met. This role is responsible for ensuring safety and quality standards are met and adhered to, the safety of the team, and to drive a proactive EHS culture focused on zero harm.
The 3CR facility will form an integral part of an upper tier COMAH site at Royston and, as such, familiarity, and awareness of ATEX, Functional Safety, EHS critical equipment would be particularly desirable.
Provide a skilled execution of Planned, Reactive & Corrective Mechanical and Electrical maintenance activities to ensure the ongoing reliability of equipment across the plant.
Deliver effective problem solving and Mechanical/Electrical fault diagnosis skills, adhering to identified work priorities to ensure that customers and stakeholders are supported in their daily operational needs.
Undertake occasional plant modification work to help enhance plant safety and improve efficiency.
Conduct Inspections, testing, adjustments, and monitoring tasks as required to maintain efficient plant and build-in equipment reliability.
Responsible for updating the CMMS with work progress and required spares for work tasks and/or to maintain critical stock levels.
Cooperate and collaborates with other team members to continually drive our proactive engineering programme; participates in failure investigations and identifies reliability issues within the plant.
Interpret technical drawings for planning, executing, and specifying material to support job duties.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
Must have completed a recognised Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification. BTEC ONC/HNC, C&G Qualifications Parts 1 & 2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. - Essential
Completed a City & Guilds Electrical Installation Parts One and Two or equivalent. City & Guilds IEE Wiring Regulations 18th edition (BS7671) - Essential
Experience in a large-scale manufacturing / chemical industry within a maintenance function - Desirable
Experience of working with Profibus networking would be an advantage - Desirable
Exposure to a LEAN approach to manufacturing - Desirable
Experience of working with ATEX equipment (CompEx Trained) - Desirable
