Job Summary

The Talent Technology Lead will play a critical role in ensuring that we leverage technology to put people with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time in service of the Bank’s strategy. The role will be responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing oversight of our end-to-end talent technology ecosystem, responsible for how we leverage our chosen best of breed talent technology strategy to scale and sustain a skills first approach across all areas of the organisation. They will be expected to have a good understanding of our core talent technology suite – in particular SAP and Gloat - and in partnership with the overall Careers & Capabilities team define a strategy on how these can work together to deliver tech enabled, skills first experiences at critical moments across the Colleague and People Leader lifecycle. They will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with key vendor contacts, ensuring that they maximise these relationships to understand how product functionality can be best used in service of our strategy, and that product enhancements and any impact on our technology suite are understood and planned for in advance.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong awareness and understanding of the overall Bank and individual Business strategies across the organisation, and therefore how technology can both be leveraged to put the skills we have today where they will have the greatest impact, and to help understand future skill demands based on the areas in which we operate.
  • Strong awareness and understanding of the markets and sectors in which the Bank operates to be able to project what the current and future of these markets and sectors looks like and how this will impact skill requirements across the Business. 
  • Understanding of how skills first experiences can be embedded and enabled by technology at critical moments of both the Colleague and People Leader lifecycle.
  • Lead themselves and team members in line with our Bankwide values of ‘Better Together’, ‘Never Settle’ and ‘Do the Right Thing’. Constant adherence to the Bank’s culture of high performance that drives innovation through continuous career focused conversations.
  • The ability to identify any risks in relation to technology process and governance and based on this information provide suggestions of how appropriate controls, measures and mitigations could be put in place to minimise impacts of any risks.
  • Understanding of the Bank’s core technology governance processes and standards, and responsible for ensuring technology solutions meet the requirements and expectations of such standards and processes.
