Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic and financial analysis within Deutsche Bank Group and covers asset allocation and all major industry sectors. We analyse relevant trends for the Bank in financial markets, the economy and society, highlight risks and opportunities and act as consultant for the Bank, its clients and stakeholders. Deutsche Bank Research delivers high-quality analysis and promotes public debate on economic, fiscal, labour market and social policy issues.
You will sit with the Healthcare team in London. Your responsibility will be to assist/ support the team in producing equity research with the ultimate aim of assisting asset managers in making choices for which stocks to invest in within specific sectors. This involves detailed therapeutic and clinical data analysis, financial modelling, assisting the on-going production of written research to promote investment views and conducting primary and secondary market research to formulate and substantiate the views in Deutsche Bank’s equity research product.

Your key responsibilities
- Support asset managers choose which stocks to invest in within specific sectors. Using publicly available information, assess the financial performance and strategy of the companies in the sector and then form a view on the relative and absolute valuation of each company
- Support institutional asset managers decide which companies are worth investing in and which are worth avoiding
- Involvement with primary/secondary market research, financial modeling and writing research notes
- Assist/ support the Lead Analyst with stock coverage, preparation of financial models, authoring draft research notes
- Build and leverage relationships with companies under coverage while also collaborating with the corporate access team to help organise client events and expert calls
Your skills and experience
- Educated to undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification/work experience, in life sciences is required with higher scientific degree (such as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or financial qualification (Associate Chartered Accountant/Chartered Financial Analyst (ACA/CFA) preferred
- Previous relevant professional experience in a relevant role (biopharmaceutical industry/consulting or finance preferred)
- An equity research background and relevant experience is not necessary but some experience or demonstrable interest in the biopharmaceutical industry required
