AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions for risks in several areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. Responsible for handling new business and reviewing and renewing existing books of business, underwriters are fundamental in generating revenue for AIG. Underwriters are tasked with determining the risk of an insured, whether an individual, or company, and appropriately calculating the premium for the requested coverage.

Our Early Career program is aimed at participants to start or accelerate their careers. Through a range of approaches including innovative experiential learning and technical training, performance assessments, formalized mentoring, and exposure to senior leaders, our Early Career program offers unparalleled development opportunities for our diverse early career talent.  Whether you’re a recent university graduate, or someone with less than two years of work experience, the program is designed to evolve with the rapid pace of technological advancements and changing employee preferences to ensure that today’s participants become leaders capable of conquering tomorrow’s challenges.

With the objective of developing exceptional students into exceptional professionals, the Early Career Program offers 2 years comprehensive and accelerated underwriting training designed to build the technical knowledge and skills you will need for a rewarding and challenging career at AIG. As a Full-time Underwriting Analyst, you will experience a combination of self-study, classroom, and on-the-job assignments that will quickly develop your professional knowledge. Training sessions will be part of the program. You will learn first hand how to:

  • Analyze risk exposures

  • Evaluate insurance and risk management requests

  • Develop client proposals: preparation of customized offers for national and international customers

  • Collaborate on interdepartmental and strategic projects : interacting with professionals at all levels of the organization

The technical knowledge and work relationships gained in the Early Career Program truly allows participants to hit the ground running in their underwriting career.

Job Profile - Requirements and skills - What we’re looking for:

  • Recent University Graduates or a little bit of experience in Insurance industry.

  • Engineering, Information Technologies degree (preferred), Law, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Sciences or Risk Management degree.

  • Fluent English skills (written & spoken)

  • Industry related summer internship or work experience is a plus

  • Cross Functional Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Outgoing and entrepreneurial personality

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical skills and critical thinking

  • Client Focus and Solution Orientation: Problem Solving

  • Challenging with humility

  • Microsoft Office skills
