The Technical Regulations & Standards Engineer (TRSE) forms part of the EMEA WTR team in HP’s Enterprise Operations organization (Sustainable Impact & Compliance).

The TRSE is responsible to manage the regulatory product compliance for the various WTR key domains (Safety, EMC, Telecom, Energy Efficiency and Cybersecurity Product Compliance), ensuring smooth operations and market access in EMEA, more in particular for the EU/UK market.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Ensure product compliance & smooth market access, to meet customer commitments on safe & legal products. Prioritize compliance integration of new domains, new technologies (NPI’s)and key growth areas & markets.
  • Engage with EU/UK authorities to get the 1st hand standards, regulations and requirements in order to provide clear interpretation to HP product compliance.
  • Provide unambiguous regulatory requirements to HP business (GBU), R&D, Supply Chain/Logistics, and manufacturing.
  • Participate & provide feedback to government authorities with influence on product regulations practice with HP’s best interests. Participate in industry organizations / workstreams as needed.
  • Collaborate on related compliance projects (eg. related to RoHS, EcoDesign, Refurbish/Renew products, Accessibility etc) with peer teams in Sustainable Impact & Compliance organization as well as x-functions in Trade Compliance, Government Affairs & Public Policy (GA&PP), Industry Standards Program Office (ISPO), Legal etc.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with market stakeholders, incl. local BU/Category/Sales/Sales Ops/Customs Ops/Legal teams.
  • Proactively stay ahead of evolving industry and regulatory landscapes by enhancing risk mitigation and compliance readiness plans.
  • Support market surveillance audits and coordinate on escalations/incident/recall activities.
  • Enable growth of HP’s overall business and support resiliency improvement initiatives.
  • Drive simplification & automation. Transform data to enhance accuracy and traceability.

Profile:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Electrical & Electronic / Telecom Engineering, or related (engineering) science discipline. Additional education in business administration, compliance or project management are considered a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, preferably in the areas of product testing (eg. in one of the following domains: Safety/EMC/Telecom/Energy Efficiency).
  • Advanced technical understanding on at least one of the following EU/UK regulations: Safety/EMC/Telecom/Energy Efficiency. Good understanding on certification/declaration process, incl. CE/UKCA marking.
  • Experience with tech products (eg. Computing/Print technologies) and/or industrial/machinery products are highly valued.
  • Membership or participation in industry organizations, committees or previous experience with government associates and agencies are a plus.
  • Highly developed project/process management and collaboration skills, preferably with previous experience in global/multicultural, technical environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Growth mindset and interested in continuous improvement, developing digital/automation/AI skills.
  • Proficient in English language. Other EU-languages are a plus.
