About The Role
The BMP Global Claims Manager Deputy is responsible for leading the engineering delivery of a core insurance system, focusing on claims notifications or claims handling. This role requires a seasoned engineering leader with expertise in software development across multiple locations.
What you do
- Direct engineering teams in developing and deploying the claims core product, ensuring technical robustness and scalability.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, including front-end, back-end, full-stack developers, Scrum Masters, and testers.
- Implement agile methodologies to optimize development processes and enhance delivery speed.
- Evaluate project estimations and assess technical complexity for realistic timelines and resource allocation.
- Manage interdependencies within the engineering process to ensure seamless integration and consistent delivery.
- Collaborate with product teams to address delays or infeasible requirements, ensuring alignment with product goals.
- Establish rigorous testing and quality assurance protocols to maintain high product reliability and compliance.
What you bring
- Strong proficiency in software development, particularly with Java and PL/I technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse engineering teams across multiple locations.
- Extensive experience in managing complex technical projects, focusing on planning, execution, and risk management.
- Ability to analyze technical challenges and develop innovative, practical solutions.
- Deep understanding of agile development practices and continuous improvement strategies.
- Proven track record of managing engineering teams in a global environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 15+ years of experience in software development and technical leadership roles.
