Details of the role and how it fits into the team

Our Origination & Advisory business provides full range of investment banking products and services for corporates, sovereigns and financial sponsors.

Our offering consists of comprehensive financial advisory and capital raising services in form of debt and equity - including mergers & acquisitions, underpinned by one of the world's largest and most successful debt and equity capital markets platforms.

Deutsche Bank has established franchises in advisory and structuring for sustainable finance where a global presence enables us to partner with clients of all sectors and at various stages of their sustainability journey.

Your key responsibilities

  • Advisory on positioning of sustainability strategy within fixed-income markets and other stakeholders

  • Advisory on post issuance reporting and ongoing market communication on sustainability strategy

  • Structuring of ESG-themed securities

  • Initial client focus on public sector and real economy clients

  • Analysis of regulatory development and market trends and translation into actionable measures for our O&A clients and their financing tool box

  • Work in an international team and in close cooperation with other teams within Deutsche Bank’s O&A, FICC and corporate bank business divisions as well as group sustainability and other central / strategic functions

Your skills and experiences

  • University degree & proven experience in investment banking, ideally debt capital markets and work on ESG-themed financing instruments

  • Experience supporting senior bankers across all stages of a transaction lifecycle, including pitching and post pitch analysis, preparing marketing materials and deal execution

  • Strong team player with a personality that is very comfortable in a very dynamic and fast-changing environment with ever-changing tasks * Background in sustainability / sustainable finance (academic and/or work experience)

  • Knowledge of EU sustainable finance regulation (e.g. Taxonomy regulation, SFDR) and climate and biodiversity-related frameworks (e.g. TCFD / TNFD, SBTi / SBTN) is a plus

  • Work in areas which concern sustainable objectives beyond climate risk mitigation and adaption is a plus

  • Work with or for public sector issuers, regulatory bodies or relevant NGOs in the area of sustainability is a plus

  • Excellent written and spoken German & English is mandatory
