The Red Hat DMC(Document Management & Collaboration) Development and Delivery Team is looking for a talented Software Engineer to intern with us for the next year in the Brno office. Our team develops, augments, maintains, and supports applications internal to Red Hat that support day-to-day operations by Red Hatters. This includes directly supporting the Marketing and Sales teams as well as indirect support of daily needs such as easily finding information. We are looking for a developer who is driven to succeed, wants to learn more about development or infrastructure, and is able to manage their own time and tasks well.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is July 1st.
What you will do:
Write code to build out new features
Find and fix bugs in existing code
Work with OpenShift to build, maintain and deploy applications
Work in multiple applications with varying codebases
Submit code to Git to be maintained and reviewed
Learn and understand pipeline deployments
Provide feedback to the team to improve processes
Contribute to team ceremonies discussing work
Learn new technologies and skills to build your future as a developer!
What you will bring:
You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor’s 3rd/4th year or Master’s) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.
Working knowledge of written and spoken English
Experience with Java web applications
Ability to read and interpret set of requirements into tasks
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills including performing root cause analysis
Familiarity with distributed source control such as Git, including branching and merging
Knowledge of front-end development
