Job Description

As an RD Intern in Philips Healthcare Ultrasound Transducer R&D in China, you will report to the Philips Ultrasound Transducer R&D Director in China.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Assisting Reliability Engineering in completing Verification or Qualification plan or report, such as data collection and organization, document editing etc.
  • Assist REL Engineer in conducting failure analysis for the marketing or testing issue, investigate the root cause of the problem.
  • Participate in verification activities in assigned projects and learn or execute relevant tasks under guidance.
  • Collaborate with Material Engineering to develop new materials to improve physical and chemical resistance of the new transducer products.
  • Assist Material Engineer for sample build and support to evaluate the compatibility or biocompatibility of newly identified disinfection and cleaning materials used by customers.
  • Manage the laboratory and test equipment per quality and EHS requirements, execute the IQ/OQ and maintenance for lab equipment if needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following:

  • Minimum of a MS in: Materials Science, electrical, mechanical or other applicable Engineering disciplines
  • Strong material or failure analysis knowledge will be preferred, and transducer knowledge is plus.
  • Proficient in using MS Office suite, and Minitab. A working knowledge of MATLAB is a plus.
  • A self-starter, highly motivated with good organizational and strong leaning ability, and is proactive and responsible at work.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with statistics and Design of Experiment.
  • Excellent team player that works effectively with cross functional and cross site teams, good communication skills and teamwork spirit.
