Develops and implements improvement plans and contributes to the development of policies, procedures and guidelines at site(s)/several countries/ for the EHS discipline in line with business needs that supports the regional JM EHS strategic goals. Develops policies, and procedures with an approximate time horizon of up to 1-2 years. Works independently, within operational plans and policies. Most likely manage >1 site.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Managing the tracking and communication of EHS regulatory requirements pertaining to the plant and assure that plant-level plans are developed and executed to ensure compliance with local laws and Stepan Corporate policy requirements.
- Setting up the EHS program and support the implementation to improve the EHS positive culture in ZJG plant.
- Developing, conducting and managing EHS training programs for management and employees at ZJG plant to improve employees’ EHS skills and awareness.
- Coordinating hazard analyses and risk assessment
- Participating in EHS assessment & acceptance for new projects.
- Supporting to implement PSSR for new project and MOC.
- coaching the JSA implementation for workstations
- Pushing the work assessment and develop PPE matrix
- Participating in work activities which are relevant to EHS, providing advice/consultation with respect to EHS (environment, fire protection, work safety, process safety, etc.) to ensure the compliance and manage risks.
- Managing EHS audits and working with departments until findings are closed and documented, so that risks can be reduced or eliminated.
- Communicating with authorities and JM and convey relative information to the site. Developing action plan to comply with requirements.
- Managing the completion of monthly & annual EHS reporting requirements at the plant-level including JM EHS reporting System. Developing monthly and annual EHS compliance reports for injuries, property damage and fires, spills, waste water, emissions and solid waste.
- Participating as expert in accident investigation. Conducting incident statistic and analysis. So as to avoid incident reoccurred.
- Reviewing and optimize the ERP for the site. And coordinate drills. To ensure compliance and improve emergency response capacity.
- Developing EHS goals and supervising the implementation with the support by leadership to direct ZJG plant EHS culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of EHS experience in chemical or other manufacturing field
- 5+ years of experience on EHS Culture setup.
- Bachelor degree in Chemical, Safety, Environmental science or related
- Good English both in oral and written.
- Strong communication skills, both for internal and external, especially be good at or can be good at coaching and communication with operators.
- Good skills on leading risk assessment and developing workable actions.
