Structured Commodity Finance (SCF) is a product offering within ING’s Trade & Commodity Finance franchise (TCF) which aims to meet the structured financing needs of our (TCF) clients.

TCF is part of the Commodities, Food & Agri (CF&A) Sector and has an integrated client/sector/product set up to manage the relationships with traders in physical commodities (Energy, Metals and Agricultural Commodities). With dedicated TCF offices in EMEA, Asia and North America, ING is recognized by its commodity clients and its peers as a global leading bank in the sector.

SCF has been defined as a growth engine within the Sector, and as product proposition is part of the recently set up business vertical TCF products.

We are looking to hire a proactive and senior deal originator to design, expand, execute and manage our SCF deals in the SCF team in Geneva.

In this role your primary responsibility will be to develop and grow the bank’s SCF portfolio with our clients.

You are a senior, client-facing banker who drives ING’s TCF differentiating factors and value proposition versus its competitors.
You are a leader at negotiating terms with traders, producers, banks and insurers.
You have extensive knowledge to assess credit risk, commodity price impacts, collateral security and conduct due diligence.
You have proven end to end structuring skills from origination to financial and non-financial risk awareness and the ability to handle specifics of execution, documentation and closing transactions.
You are a team player and have a strong relationship building drive.
You have an existing network with commodities clients as well as key banking peers.
You will ensure operational excellence and compliance in this strategic product offering.
You have strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
You will support the team to be successful through engagement and coaching of the junior members of the team.
You are capable to work under pressure and eager to go the extra mile.

Required experience

You have relevant and proven 7-10 years of experience in commodities, structuring and origination,
Established experience in managing complex producer/ processing prepayment and pre-export financing structures.
Strong commercial acumen, a growth mindset and the ability to execute.
Good knowledge/ experience of the regulatory environment,
Your academic record demonstrates a high degree of analytical competence
Fluent in English and other languages
