Job Summary:
As an AVP level Business Anti Financial Crime (BLAFC) Officer at DBZ you will be responsible for monitoring, advising, policy writing, and project work related to anti-financial crime activities within the corporate banking sector. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, minimizing financial risks, and maintaining the integrity of the bank's operations. Fluency in both German and English languages is required.
Responsibilities
- Member of the DBZ BLAFC team - based in Zurich.
- Main focus on the CB/IB Business (in particular, Corporate Bank).
- Review and complete AFC escalations in relation to high-risk customers, to assess financial crime risks applying a risk-based approach, in accordance with local regulations and DB policy
- Identify and escalate any identified sanctions or corruption concerns.
- Conduct regular monitoring of transactions, customer activities, and internal processes to detect and prevent potential money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes.
- Further develop, review, and update the AML transaction monitoring tool (Actimize) in close collaboration with the headquarter in Frankfurt.
- Analyse alerts, investigate suspicious activities, and escalate any identified risks or concerns to the appropriate authorities.
- Provide advice to the business and other infrastructure functions in presence of identified negative information.
- Advise internal clients on the implication of future business strategies, on AML risk issues as they apply to products and services, customer onboarding, customer account closures and the application of AML Policy
- Collaborate with client facing teams to collect required legal documents and associated information to comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies and ensure high quality and timely completion of all client-level due diligence obligations.
- Provide AML guidance to the First Line of Defence on financial crime through the course of day-to-day business.
- Represent the local AML Team at various DB Committees/Forums with particular reference to AML and Know Your Client development.
- Ensure policies are effectively communicated, understood, and adhered to by all relevant employees.
- Participate in AFC-related projects, including system enhancements, process improvements, and regulatory change initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AFC requirements are integrated into new products, services, and systems.
- Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, testing.
- Escalate relevant matters within the AFC organisation.
- Identify and escalate any identified sanctions or corruption concerns.
Skills
- Degree in business administration or equivalent, law or a successfully completed finance apprenticeship with relevant professional qualification.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a comparable position in the areas of (AFC, Compliance, Internal Audit or Legal) in the financial services industry
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- AML, S&E, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Fraud knowledge
- Previous experience working in the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of AML monitoring tool Actimize would be an advantage.
- An understanding of the legal and compliance issues of complex banking organisations
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines with no loss of accuracy.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities to meet organizational and business needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to enable the building of strong, open dialogue-based relationships with relevant stakeholder.
- Fluent in English and German language
- Working knowledge of MS Office Programs
