The Senior Geomechanics Specialist position is located within the Latin America organization. The role is expected to bring technical differentiation with expertise in reservoir geomechanical modeling throughout the oil field life cycle. As a Senior Geomechanics Specialist you will be responsible for leading projects in Brazil, and to provide any required assistance to consultancy projects for clients across the Latin America region as well.

As a Senior Geomechanics Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and executing geomechanical project work including but not limited to stress constraint, pore pressure and wellbore stability analysis, rock mechanics, fracture permeability, fault seal analysis, image & caliper log analysis, sand production prediction and other related topics.
  • Prepare presentations, technical documents and other items of project delivery
  • Collaborating with other technical professionals in multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Providing local technical support in regional x-product lines initiatives.
  • Maintaining frequent intra-organizational and external customer contacts
  • Demonstrate compliance to company policies, for the entire team, including HSE compliance.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering or a Geoscience discipline and solid technical experience in the field of geomechanics with solid experience in the O&G Industry.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Geotechnical, Geomechanics, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geophysics, or related field is a plus.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in geomechanical model-building. Experience with related software such as Jewel Suite Geomechanics.
  • Work both independently and as part of multi-disciplined teams.
  • Have good interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Have effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Robust and reliable project management skills
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal and presentation. Show advanced English level, Spanish is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and can operate with minimal supervision
  • Be confident, flexible and adaptable and perform under stress when required
