Job Summary
The Red Hat Engineering team is seeking an Associate Manager focused on software engineering to join us in the Cluster Service group in Brazil. Cluster Service is responsible for provisioning and lifecycling Managed OpenShift services on AWS, GCP, and Azure. In this role, you will lead the team's work and delivery and be involved in technical designs, discussions, and prioritizations.
You will also participate in creating team structure, performance reviews, and coaching and mentoring associates. You'll collaborate with multiple Red Hat engineering teams and open-source communities around the globe, as well as major partners, strategic customers, product managers, and global alliance managers. What you will do:
Lead a global engineering team to design, develop, and deliver product and engineering features.
Contribute to and lead technical discussions, designs, cross-team engineering collaboration, and customer and partner engagements.
Work with cross-functional managers and teams across support, quality assurance, documentation, and other areas to create and deliver a high-quality service.
Coach and provide feedback to associates and support their career development and growth
Lead the day-to-day activities of the core team across the globe, including detailed project management.
Coordinate with team leads, architects, and other engineers on product design and architecture
Work with our Red Hat's global and partner support teams to resolve customer issues.
Play an active role in the hiring activities for on-site and remote teams
What you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - 6+ years of significant software development experience
3+ years of experience working in a Hybrid Cloud Management Organization as team lead or PSE.
Experience with multiple big cloud providers, e.g. Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure
Experience with the management of an organization's databases and database management systems as well as database performance optimization.
Proficiency and working experience with container-related technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to apply technology to business problems - experience successfully leading through ambiguity and change.
Solid organizational capability, including building and achieving aggressive plans and leading the everyday activities of a global engineering team
Deep technical understanding and expertise and the ability to navigate through high-level system and software architecture down to detailed designs, code reviews, and problem-solving; this is a highly technical, directly involved role
Excellent understanding of all aspects of software development, project management, quality assurance (QA), and customer advocacy in a large-scale environment
