We are currently seeking an Underwriter, Construction to expand our Construction Portfolio in the Benelux region, catering to both international and domestic segments.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in our office in Zaventem, Belgium.

Key Accountabilities:

As an Underwriter Construction, you will provide direction to building and enhancing the construction portfolio for Zurich in Benelux. Collaboration is essential, alongside the independent management of your own customers and portfolio from A to Z. You are a transparent communicator with a desire to broaden your professional network and a passion for the insurance business.

What you will do:

• Control the development and maintenance of the construction insurance portfolio with expert knowledge.
• Foster and expand relationships with insurance brokers, service providers, and internal colleagues.
• Evaluate and analyze construction insurance risks by processing data, analyzing information, and consolidating facts to make accurate decisions.
• Coordinate, follow up, and manage all administrative requirements for your customers and contacts in an organized manner.
• Drive results with a passion for the business and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Further develop and deepen your expertise in construction insurance.
• Contribute to and enhance team performance through collaboration and leadership.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably with a technical background.
• At least 4 years of experience in underwriting within the construction insurance sector.
• Fluent communication skills in Dutch, French, and English (non-negotiable).
• Strong technical knowledge combined with commercial acumen and analytical thinking.
• Highly motivated, result-driven, and passionate about the insurance industry.
• Proficiency with IT systems and software.
