The Everyday Banking team supports the full spectrum of customers’ transaction banking and deposits needs from birth through to retirement. We support over 9 million customers manage their day to day spend, save to achieve their financial goals and … We have end to end accountability for all Retail Deposits and Transactions products and customer experiences, the groups Open Banking obligations and key customer journeys including Disputes and Deceased Estates.

Our purpose is to improve the financial wellbeing of our customers and communities.The Deposits, Pricing and Governance Crew has end to end accountability for the Deposits product suite that includes mass market products (Term Deposits, NetBank Saver, GoalSaver), segment specific products (Youthsaver, Pensioner Security Account, Private Bank Account), and specialist products (Safe Custody, Assurance of Support). The Savings Value stream helps customers reach their goals through simple and innovative solutions and strives to provide an easy-to-understand product suite that meets customer's needs.

Do Work That Matters

As the Executive Product Owner Affluent Savings, you will play a crucial role in reshaping the groups approach to the Mass Affluent customer segment. You will lead the development of the groups affluent savings products, work with key business partners to define the distribution strategy (digital and assisted), and work with our Acquisition, Engagement and Retention crew to shape our customer engagement strategy.

Over the first twelve months you will also lead the broader Savings Value Stream.

Specifically you will,

  • Lead a squad of technology and product specialists
  • Lead the Savings Value Stream for the first twelve months
  • Develop and execute the product strategy and customer value proposition for Mass Affluent Savings products
  • Redefine the Mass Affluent Savings distribution strategy
  • Establish mechanisms to identify opportunities to enhance the product, streamline customers experiences, and drive outcomes aligned to our KPIs and OKRs
  • Attract and develop talent including interviewing, recruitment, hiring, and mentoring of squad members and other product owners
  • Obsess over the customer experience including actively seeking voice of the customer to improve service offering across all our channels and segments
  • Possess the ability to quickly pivot to changing work demands and accurately evaluate complex, ambiguous situations to reach timely, objective and informed decision
  • Identify, articulate, and manage risks and compliance across streams of work
  • Lead the squad day-to-day delivery and lifecycle activities, including addressing impediments and resolving escalations
  • Take accountability for effective Incident, Problem management, and the reduction of Tech Debt across the product
  • Influence & manage multiple senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure prioritisation is understood and agreed too
  • Manage the squad’s performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking

  • A passion for human centric design thinking and ways of identifying opportunities for driving experience and growth
  • Ability to deliver written and verbal updates to senior executive level
  • Experience working in an agile environment advantageous
  • A wealth of experience in financial services with product management experience is required
  • Having experience as an Executive Manager and leading teams is highly desirable
  • Experience and understanding of the Mass Affluent segment is highly desirable
