Group Strategy supports the Board and Executive Leadership Team in developing the Group’s strategy, assessing changes in our external and internal environment to identify risks and opportunities that are of strategic significance to the Group and its businesses.

Group Strategy supports the organisation’s response, including by supporting the annual planning process, the regulatory advocacy strategy, and, in some instances, developing initiatives to accelerate strategic objectives including through organic or inorganic innovation. It is the home to x15, the digital ventures business looking to build the next generation of solutions for 15 million customers, by unlocking new value from CommBank’s assets through partnership with the tech and innovation community. 

Do work that matters

This fast-paced, dynamic and rewarding EA opportunity will provide proactive, effective and efficient administrative support to the Group Executive Group Strategy at Commbank. You will be required to pre-empt their needs on an ongoing basis, manage the Executive’s demanding schedule, and act as a key point of contact to ensure smooth day-to-day operations is met.

This is a highly visible EA role and to be considered, you must be a commercially savvy Executive Assistant who currently supports similar level C-suite Group Executives, hold experience dealing with Board Committees and have had direct interactions with them.

Our Group Executive is looking for a true partnership where you’ll have the opportunity to provide administrative support directed to key agendas and decisions that support the strategic functions of the leadership team.

 Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Diary & Email Management – Oversee a complex schedule, prioritising commitments and ensuring seamless daily operations
  • Gatekeeping & Communication – Manage correspondence, filter requests, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Travel Coordination – Arrange detailed domestic and international travel itineraries
  • Meeting management – Prepare agendas, reports, presentations and arrange meeting room bookings
  • Event management – Arranging events/functions/offsites/team building events
  • Stakeholder Management – Act as a trusted liaison between the External and internal/external contacts
  • Establish and maintain strong, effective, strategic and appropriate working relationships within business partners, EAs and other stakeholders
  • Risk management – Provide HR support and assist with recruitment requests, staff exits, onboarding / offboarding, and adhering to the Group’s policies and procedures
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to the wider team

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Previous EA  experience supporting similar C-suite Executives who are direct reports of the CEO of a similar size organisation
  • A proactive working style with ability to pre-empt needs and take initiative to get things done
  • Exceptional attention to detail and Superior skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • A high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to build relationships, is highly personable with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage workflow, priorities, work well under pressure and be flexible
  • High level of pragmatic professionalism – face to face, over the phone and through correspondence

Your success will be governed by your experience working with fast-paced C-Suite executives and understanding the need to pre-empt their needs on an ongoing basis.  You will have experience with proactive diary management and stakeholder liaison, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills and a track record of understanding the unique needs of C-Suite executives.  Experience taking minutes, drafting correspondence and managing a very busy diary is vital.
