The Chief Operations Office keeps the Bank running and powers our customer obsession. We process and execute the majority of all processes across the Bank supporting the Retail, Business, and Institutional businesses with banking, lending and markets operations, along with running Regulatory operations and delivering Group regulatory projects. The Digitisation & Enablement crew in the Chief Operating Office (COO) reimagines product processes for customers of RBS,BB and IB&M. We enable COO to deliver material improvements to the lived experiences of our customers through enabling our operations teams to serve customers faster, reliably and safely.
Do work that matters:
In this role, you will lead and define the product vision, goals and roadmap. Lead the end-to-end development of the product roadmap ensuring maximum output and quality from the squad. Apply value based prioritisation to successful achieve the business and squad objectives. You will also lead a squad to ensure delivery of the roadmap and the in-life product lifecycle management.
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/ business units to manage the delivery of product roadmap.
Lead the squad day-to-day to deliver change and lifecycle activities.
Lead an integrated squad that brings business and technologists together including product managers, engineers, business analysts and testers.
Ensure customers, developers and suppliers have the support they require, and problems resolved.
Accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions and resolving escalations.
Act as the voice of the business and translate this for the team.
Drive project exploration and inception to ensure alignment of product strategy.
Formulate hypotheses to validate customer problems and define clear learning objectives that will inform product roadmap and prioritisation decisions.
Identify, articulate and manage risks and compliance across streams of work.
Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design.
Maintain a healthy prioritised Backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes.
Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that priorities are understood and agreed to.
Manage the squad’s performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc.
We are interested in people who have:
Established Product Owner experience, ideally within operations.
An understanding of Banking and Financial Services
A passion for product management & solving customer problems.
Experience working with reconciliation platforms like IntelliMatch DIM will be desirable.
Great team leader with experience leading client services or technical support teams.
Strong decision making, communication (written and verbal) and prioritisation skills.
A curiosity for all-things-AI and digital, monitoring the latest technology trends.
Experience in liaising with a range of stakeholders from senior managers to technical developer teams.
Highly analytical skills with a strong commercial acumen.
A solid understand of technology and how it enables customer experiences.
