Business Bank (BB) offers a wide range of services and solutions to our small to medium, enterprise customers and our regional and agribusiness customers. We also take care of our personal and institutional online trading customers. Everyday Business Banking (EBB) team supports the full spectrum of customers’ needs from start-up businesses to institutional customers, including product management, analytics and customer strategy.

Payment Acceptances supports our clients to operate and grow their business, through the provision of innovative payment solutions that help them better engage with their customers and suppliers. We are accountable for the end-to-end business customer experience and the delivery of acceptance capabilities to support our business customers. The Customer Present Crew within Payments Acceptance is building in-store payment solutions for our Merchants, helping our empower customers to take more sales and to grow and scale their business.

Do work that matters:

In this role, you own the product and will be responsible for ensuring customers value the Proposition for Payments Acceptance. You lead the end-to-end development of the product ensuring maximum output and quality from the squad. Apply domain expertise to support prioritisation and successful achievement of business and squad objectives.

Specifically, you will;

  • Lead and develop the product strategy & development of the value proposition.
  • Empower the squad to deliver outcomes that drives revenue, customer product adoption and advocacy.
  • Act as the voice of the customer and business, translating this for the squad
  • Maintain a healthy prioritised Backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes
  • Lead and develop the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/ business units to manage the delivery of product roadmap
  • Manage the squad’s performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking
  • Incorporate customer focused design thinking and analytics to inform product design and delivery
  • Manage key supplier and partner relationships
  • Support in-life products and product queries or escalations
  • Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to
  • Identify, articulate and manage risks and compliance across streams of work
  • Lead the squad day-to-day to deliver change
  • Formulate hypotheses to validate customer problems and define clear learning objectives that will inform product roadmap and prioritisation decisions
  • Accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions and resolving escalations
  • Safely hand over new product development and capability to the business operational teams

Help us deliver a better future in Business Banking by:

  • Must have proven Senior Product Management and / or Product Delivery, Product Owner, Product Strategy experience, ideally (but not mandatory) within healthcare or merchant acquiring / ecommerce
  • Risk mindset – all CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship-building skills
  • A real passion for customer centric design thinking and ways of identifying opportunities for driving experience and growth

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Ability to deliver written and verbal updates to senior executive level

  • Strong collaboration with teams on work streams/ project activities end-to-end and independently manage deliverables
  • Experience working in an agile environment advantageous
