You are passionate about working with Creative and Innovative thinkers bringing their ideas into the world. You will lead the IP Office driving both CBA’s participation in Open Source and establish a Patents Office.

Our team is driven by its mission to ensure that the CBA has global technology competitive advantage, and works every day to enhance collaboration, innovation & excellence through innovation, community and partnership.

Together we’re working to build the bank of tomorrow, making things better for employees and customers.

Do work that matters:

CommBank is establishing an Intellectual Property (IP) Office to enhance technology innovation and collaboration with the organisation and improve our brand in the global technology community.

As the Senior Manager for the IP office, you love the challenge of building a technology focused community in a cross-functional team comprised of technical, risk, legal and security experts. The IP office will work toward two outcomes; Driving CBA’s adoption and participation in Open Source and establishing a Patents Office in the bank.

Open Source focuses on managing the consumption, contribution, and publication of open-source solutions within CommBank, enhancing collaboration, innovation, and security. Your role will be to foster a community around Open-Source Software (OSS) building the standards, knowledge and enthusiasm to support CBA’s maturity in OSS practices and over time build our contribution to the external OSS community.

The Patents Office will engage with some of the best engineers and innovative thinkers across the bank to understand the novel solutions they are developing and working with a cross functional team to design, register and maintain patents across the world.
