With over 20 years’ experience in workers compensation claims management, a unique opportunity exists to join a new DXC team. DXC are currently partnering with a reputable Government Health Organsiation, setting up their Wokers' Compensation Department and would love you to join the team as a Dispute Resolutions Officer.  

The Dispute Resolution Officer will act as the representative for DXC throughout the conciliation process. This role involves investigating and analyzing disputed claims, engaging with employees, employers, insurance companies, medical professionals, and legal teams, and facilitating timely resolutions in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. The Officer plays a key role in ensuring that disputes are resolved efficiently, minimizing litigation, and promoting fair outcomes for all parties involved.

Key elements to this role include

  • Facilitate negotiations and resolve conflicts between all parties involved in workers' compensation claims, including injured workers and employers.
  • Provide expert advice on the legal rights and obligations of each party, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Act as a neutral third-party mediator to resolve disputes related to compensation amounts, medical treatments, and return-to-work plans.
  • Analyse claims and supporting documentation to identify issues and work towards a resolution.
  • Represent clients in formal dispute resolution processes, such as arbitration or tribunal hearings.
  • Aim to prevent litigation by addressing conflicts early and reducing legal costs for all parties.
  • Ensure compliance with workers' compensation laws and regulations throughout the dispute resolution process.

To be successful

  • Previous experience as a Dispute Resolution Manager or Officer (ideally from a workers compensation background).
  • Strong experience in claims management in worker’s compensation schemes, particularly Case Management, Eligibility or Technical Management.
  • Strong working knowledge of the NSW Workers Compensation Act 1987, Medical terminology and the icare scheme
  • Extremely high level of attention to detail, ensuring compliance with all privacy and records management requirements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to mediate and facilitate discussions in high-pressure situations.
