It’s a fun and exciting time to join ING, and we’re looking to recruit an experienced Senior Regulatory Accountant to join our External Reporting Team.

As a Senior Regulatory Accountant, you’ll be responsible for preparation, review, risk management and control processes in relation to External Reporting including Local Regulatory reporting, Head Office reporting and Financial reporting.

The role involves 2 core elements; (1) assisting in the review and submission of statistical reporting requirements of ING Bank Australia Limited (IBAL) and ING N.V Sydney Branch and supporting the implementation of any changes and upcoming regulatory developments by assessing the impact of these changes have on existing reports and/or working with stakeholder teams on new requirements.

This role is an 8-month contract based in Sydney

What you’ll do

  • Ensure all relevant Local Regulatory reporting for local entities is delivered within designated timeframes and quality complied with Group policy and internal control policy and procedures to meet audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, Local Regulator Guideline, Group regulatory Guideline and Group Statutory and Regulatory Reporting Policy.
  • Function as the subject matter expert in Finance for the Local Regulatory reporting related projects and ad-hoc requests and be the connection point.
  • Process improvement around relevant reporting.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure successful and seamless completion of audit.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Senior Regulatory Accountant within banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of APRA reporting, including liquidity reporting or EFS (Economic Financial Statistic).  
  • A solid understanding of financial reporting requirements in relation to the Financial Services industry. 
  • The ability to work efficiently and autonomously, and act as a subject matter expert to support junior team members.
  • CA/CPA Qualified.
