A great opportunity exists as Senior Network Engineer reporting to Head of Network Services – APAC. You will be responsible designing, implementing, managing and supporting network infrastructure and associated technologies across Zurich Data Centres and offices within Australia and New Zealand. The scope could be extended to the whole APAC region if required.

You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot network related hardware and software problems pertaining to Data Centre, WANS, LANs, VLANs and Wireless LAN's.
  • The Senior Network Engineer shall schedule and perform network maintenance, perform installation configuration and repairs.
  • The Senior Network Engineer shall support all LAN-based technologies including switches, routers, F5, VOIP, WLAN and Ethernet technology.
  • Maintain and support WAN technologies including optimisation and SD-WAN
  • Maintain and Support Network monitoring and management tools for Australia and Hong Kong
  • Maintain high standard of Network diagrams
  • Occasional after hours work and on-call support will be required as part of this role.

Important to your success - Unlock your potential

In order to be successful in the role, you will have the following:

  • Proven record of ability and willingness to learn new vendor technologies
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information systems or related discipline (preferred)
  • Previous working experience with VxLAN and EVPN is highly regarded
  • Multiple years demonstrated experience installing networks using devices including network technology vendors including Cisco, Arista, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5, etc.  
  • Multiple years experience designing and managing LANS/WANS/VLANS/SDWAN
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalling level troubleshooting, familiar with network monitoring tools
  • Experience with SDWAN technology, standard routing technologies including BGP and OSPF
  • Experience with F5 Load Balancers
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) of Arista based network technologies including UCN/Campus Switches & Wireless LAN, or open L3LS, L2LS design architecture
  • Basic Linux skills is a plus
  • Industry certifications highly regarded - Arista ACE, Cisco CCNP or better certification
