The opportunity: 

We have an opportunity available for a Senior Manager, Compliance to join our broader Enterprise Risk and Compliance team at AIA. Reporting to the General Manager, Compliance you will be responsible for Financial Accountability Regime (FAR), Whistleblower program and ASIC Responsible Managers as well as conducting the CPS 511 compliance requirements. The successful incumbent for this role can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

To do this successfully you will: 

  • Maintain Accountability Maps, Accountability Statements and Reasonable Steps Statements and filing with regulators within the prescribed timeframes for FAR/CPS511
  • Coordinate and provide inputs to respond to regulatory enquiries regarding FAR and any regulatory investigations arising from FAR
  • Manage and provide advice for the FAR breach reporting process
  • Manage AIA Australia’s Whistleblower program, including investigations and reporting on outcomes
  • Oversee the Responsible Managers process and lodgment of changes to Responsible Managers within the prescribed timelines
  • Develop and Maintain Compliance Policies Standards and Guidance materials including acting as an SME on these
  • Act as an SME for the monitoring plan to identify the key compliance risk areas to assess the effectiveness of the controls and actions in place
  • Preparation of compliance reporting, inclusive of AIA Group, management and Board committees and regulatory reporting such as the ASIC and APRA
  • Actively engage with the Enterprise Risk and Compliance team and the wider business to determine areas for improvement and how to simplify processes and technology across risk and compliance

Successful applications will demonstrate: 

  • Previous experience working within a compliance role with the Financial Services or Insurance industry
  • Prior experience on Financial Accountability Regime (FAR), CPS511 and Whistleblower matters would be highly regarded
  • A high level of motivation, organisation skills and strong attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, plan and work to tight deadlines
  • A collaborative approach with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills across the business including the senior management team
