What You’ll Do

Global Networks & Technology - Network Applications & Cloud is responsible for Telstra's network applications and cloud computing services.

As a Senior Domain expert, you are a Network Software Expert, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Telstra's network technology and maintaining our competitive edge in the telecommunications industry. Your primary responsibilities will include:•              Enhancing Network Capabilities: Utilize your expertise in network technologies, including Typescript, REACT, and NextJS, to significantly improve network development efforts and meet the growing demands of our customers.•              Driving Innovation and Leadership: Lead the development of cutting-edge solutions through innovative approaches and strong leadership skills. Your proven track record in successfully leading and contributing to complex projects in network technology will position us as a leader in the telecommunications industry.•              Maintaining Competitive Advantage: Secure expertise to prevent competitors from gaining an asset, thereby maintaining our competitive edge in the market.•              Advancing Network Development: Leverage your experience in network technologies and platforms to advance our network capabilities, ensuring our solutions can adapt and evolve with our business needs.•              Aligning with Strategic Goals: Ensure that your expertise in network technologies aligns perfectly with the requirements of Telstra's strategic objectives, driving the development of network solutions that rely on advanced technologies to function effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:•              A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline, or substantial software development experience.•              Extensive experience in people management and leading technical teams.•              Extensive experience working in an operational and/or engineering role in a technical environment, analyzing, requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining complex solutions in a Wireless Networks and Services or similar domain.•              Proficiency in Typescript, REACT, Git, and NextJS.•              Experience with Telstra Able Component Library, WCAG Guidelines, HTML, CSS, Message Brokers, Redhat Openshift, Docker, PCF, Kubernetes, Mobile Network terminology, NestJS, CICD, and Event-driven architecture.•              Strong interpersonal skills to contribute to a shared team purpose/vision and clear goals.•              The ability to manage capacity and deploy resources effectively to meet product growth, promoting production unit cost reduction opportunities through simplification and continuous improvement.•              The capability to balance priorities across multiple projects and missions to ensure successful delivery of outcomes.•              A strategic mindset to contribute both depth and breadth of domain expertise to enable the team to develop the missions lifecycle strategy and roadmap aligned to company priorities.
