Do Work That Matters.Market Operations Inspections and Settlements team support the Commodities Trade and Carbon (CTC) and Global Markets (GM) businesses.

Our team is looking for a Senior Manager to join our Inspections and Settlements team. This role will support the Inventory Inspection and reconciliation for our Commodities, Trade and Carbon products. It will also support broader strategy and risk deliverables for the Inspections and Settlements team. 

The Role.Reporting to the Executive Manager, Inspections and Settlements, you will be the co-ordination point for Invoice & Receivable reviews, Inventory reconciliations and site inspections. You will work with stakeholders of all levels of seniority across the Group to drive strategy, whilst ensuring ongoing awareness and review of risks. 

Inspections and Settlements function are located across a number of locations and the incumbent will need to work closely with these offshore locations to ensure global consistency and operating effectiveness.

On any given day you will:

  • Ensure the delivery of the Market Operations Inspections function within SLA
  • Manage a robust risk and control environment for the Inspections and Settlement function
  • Deliver Inspections and Settlements team strategy aligned to OKRs and risk deliverables
  • Lead team of field examiners responsible for on-site and desktop warehouse and invoice reviews
  • Co-ordinate and review Commodities and Trade finance site inspection activities
  • Prepare and present reporting, metrics and Market Operations updates for risk and business committees,
  • Oversight of key Commodities and Global Markets Inspection and Reconciliation controls
  • Risk issue and incident management for Inspections and settlements team
  • Maintain and develop strategic, stakeholder relationships and influence and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (including CBA functional leads; vendors) to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Leverage technology and automation to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention.
  • Continuously review and update operational procedures to ensure they remain effective and compliant.

Skills needed;Strong knowledge of Commodities and Trade Finance products, risks, and main customers. You will have strong prioritisation and stakeholder management skills.   

You will also have:

  • Strong knowledge of Commodities, Trade, Carbon and Global Markets products
  • Deep understanding of risk management covering Operational Risk, Compliance
  • Acute attention to detail and understanding of upstream and downstream processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships, through the delivery of exceptional service
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team
  • Demonstrable understanding of market operations processes
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices
