Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for leading the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services.

The division also performs a meaningful internal role for the Group by providing equities, markets, lending and transaction banking execution capabilities to other CBA business divisions that allows them to capture opportunities with business customers.

Global Institutional Banking Coverage leads banking relationship management and the provision of transaction banking, risk management and capital solutions to our clients. The team’s purpose is to provide IB&M clients with solutions across the financing spectrum to support their strategic objectives.

Global Institutional Banking Coverage operates in three industry eco-systems: Institutional, Corporate and Natural Resources and Carbon. Transaction Banking Solutions (TBS) supports the coverage ecosystems to distribution of transaction banking products and analytical insights.

As a key member of our team, you will be at the forefront of delivering some of the most critical strategic priorities for our Institutional Transaction Banking client base. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in driving initiatives that enhance client experiences and achieve our strategic goals. You will work closely with a combination of business partners across strategy, product, risk, Financial Crime, Compliance and legal functions to ensure all business decisions are made with the entire TBS business in mind.

As a specialist with diverse exposure across many stakeholders and functions, you will play a key role in contributing to the overall customer lifecycle, responsibilities including:

  • Customer Experience (CX) strategy: Execute key strategic initiatives within the Corporate & Institutional Transaction Banking Program and other identified strategic initiatives.

  • Strategic Delivery: Safely deliver change into our business by developing business processes, data,

  • and technology insights that enhance customer experience.

  • Leadership Engagement & communications: Produce and present required collateral and documentation to ensure TBS LT and frontline are kept informed of initiatives and programs.

  • Customer experience insights/ journey mapping: Map end-to-end customer journeys, identify key insights around customer objectives, and ensure the maps are easily consumed by decision- makers and business and technology teams.

  • Operational Risk: Support the business in designing and operating key risk controls, including preparation of Control Assurance activities and collaboration with Line 1 and 2 Risk partners.

  • Risk Culture and Continuous improvement: Drive continuous improvement of the business control environment through the use of data to generate insights and recommended actions.

  • Active Contribution: Lead and collaborate within the team and broader business to ensure a positive team culture and support a safe and diverse workplace.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Are eager to develop and strengthen their commercial and risk acumen. Proficiency and sound working knowledge of business analytics tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and other AI Productivity tools.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.

  • Have a proven ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively in teams.

  • Possess experience in customer journey mapping and business process mapping.

  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce or other business-related degree with Post graduate studies will be well regarded.

  • Exhibit excellent written and spoken communication skills with strong influencing and interpersonal abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Are proactive, driven self-starters who can take a brief and action it safely.
